Skye Marketing Ltd on Ulster Bank 'crisis'

The banking crisis that has brought financial turmoil to thousands of people has dragged into a second week with customers facing further frustration after Ulster Bank said it will take until Friday to clear the backlog.

Skye Marketing Ltd has a number of employees banking with Ulster Bank and they are furious that their money hasn’t been going through and as a result of this reporting to Director of the company Rebecca Faherty for answers. “My employees are coming to me for answers on why Ulster Bank is down and they aren't getting their money, but I don’t have any answers. This fault has affected thousands of people and a lot of people rely heavily on their wages each week, the sooner the problem is fixed the better.” Rebecca explains.

Ulster Bank has put on their website that 42 of their branches will have extended opening hours to get this problem resolved; they are also paying out to people who can produce their pay slips to prove that money has been put into their account. This can also have some problems Rebecca Faherty of Skye Marketing Ltd says “yes it is a good thing that they are paying out to people who can produce a payslip but what about the people who get paid monthly? They won’t get their payslips for a while and will be relying on their money to get by, which they obviously won’t be receiving.”

Some people are calling this backlog ‘chaos’ as it has disrupted the lives of thousands of people due to an I.T error. The sooner this gets fixed the better; Rebecca also feels that these people should be compensated for this in some way from Ulster Bank as they will have stuck by them through this chaotic period.

Rebecca believes that “it will lose customers” but she is urging her employees at Skye Marketing Ltd to stay with their current bank, whoever they are with including Ulster Bank.
